New LG gram Laptop (2020) Version

LG launched a range of products including its new LG gram laptops at CES 2020. As you know, LG gram is their lightest laptop that comes in three sizes, 17 inches, 15 inches, and 14 inches based on the display size.

This laptop weighs less than most of your college textbooks. No, I am not kidding. Have you ever seen a 17″ laptop weighing just 1350 grams? Well, that’s the actual weight of the LG gram 17″ laptop. The 15.6″ and 14″ versions weigh 1,120 g and 999 g respectively.

Don’t forget to watch the review video below

From this point, I will be focussing on the 15.6″ version as it is the most popular one out there. The 2020 version of LG gram is equipped with 10th Gen Intel processors (i7 in this case) with Iris Plus graphics which is not comparable to dedicated Nvidia graphics but it is fine for most of the applications.

The new LG gram has an 80 Wh battery capacity. They claim up to 17 hours of battery backup but I think it will be anywhere between 12 to 14 in moderate usage and around 10 in high-performance mode. The battery life is impressive! I have an MSI GT 72 Gaming laptop and its battery sucks, 3 hours on moderate use, ridiculously low.

LG gram laptop comparison

2020 LG gram has a Full HD 1920X1080 IPS display with touch function (it is not 2 in 1 though). The laptop has a RAM capacity of up to 24GB and dual SSD slots that can easily support 1 TB NVME SSD. The keyboard is backlit. There is a USB C port that supports Thunderbolt 3, more speed and fast charging.

The laptop has an HDMI, SD card and headphone ports in addition to USB and type C ports. Overall, this super-thin, super-light laptop is a good fit for students, businessmen and frequent travelers. Gamers, 3D designers and content creators may avoid this laptop.
